## Common Changes

**Skill level:** Beginner · Quick answers to the changes people ask for most. Each one names the file and the line.

### Change The Hero Title Or Buttons
`src/content/sections/english/hero-section.md`: `title`, `description`, `button`, `secondaryButton`. For one homepage only, put the same keys in a `heroSection:` block of its content file in `src/content/homepage/english/`.

### Remove The Rating Badge Or Comment Pins From The Hero
In `hero-section.md`, delete the `badge` block (default layout), the `rating` block (split layout), or the `comments` and `notes` lists.

### Hide The Dashboard In The Hero
`showDashboard: false` in `hero-section.md` (or in a page's `heroSection` block).

### Change The Sample Data In The Dashboard
`src/content/widgets/english/dashboard-mockup.md`: tabs, greeting, date, action buttons, and the performance, focus, project, team, and activity cards. Keep the counts the comments ask for (three legend items, two periods).

### Turn Off The Announcement Bar
`[settings.announcementBar] enable = false` in `config.toml`. To change its message: `src/content/widgets/english/announcement-bar.md` (change `id` too).

### Change Button Colors
Every button has a `variant`: `fill` (sun, dark text), `dark`, `fill-white`, `outline`, `text`, or `circle`. Add `class: "btn-md"` or `"btn-sm"` for a smaller size. To change what `fill` looks like everywhere, change `--theme-sun` (and `--theme-accent`, kept equal to it) in `src/styles/theme.css`; this also changes every `sun` tag and card.

All button options are in `sharedButton` in `src/sections.schema.ts`.

### Change A Tag Color
`tag: { label: "Pricing", color: "sky" }`. The color is a pastel name: `sun | lime | sky | lilac | orchid | mint | lemon | white | cream`.

### Show All Reviews On The Homepage
The homepage and about page show the first three reviews (`limit={3}` in the route). Remove `limit={3}` from the testimonials line in `src/pages/[...lang]/index.astro` (it applies to every layout, including `marquee`). The reviews are in `testimonials-section.md` and are samples.

### Change The Number Of Blog Posts Per Page
`blogPagination` in `config.toml`. For the changelog: `pagination`.

### Hide The Call To Action On One Page
Add `ctaSection: { enable: false }` to the page's content file.

### Remove The "Copy Page" Menu Or The Footer AI Row
`[settings.pageActions] enable = false` (both), or `footer = false` (only the footer row).

### Turn Off Site Search
`[settings.search] enable = false`.

### Turn Off The Cookie Banner
`[settings.cookieConsent] enable = false`. Use plain `<script>` tags in `[head]` afterwards: gated tags never run without the banner.

### Hide The Status Page
`draft: true` in `src/content/status/english/-index.md` (and `french/`). The footer status link disappears too.

### Point "Log In" And "Get Started" At My App
`url` in `[settings.navigationSecondaryLink]` and `[settings.navigationButton]` in `config.toml`. Then delete the auth pages if you don't need them, and search the section files for `/signup/` links.

### Make The Header Button Say Something Else
`navigation.buttonLabel` in `src/i18n/en.json` and `fr.json` (or `label` in `[settings.navigationButton]` for one language).

### Change The Footer Copyright
`footer.copyright` in `src/i18n/en.json` and `fr.json`. `{year}` and `{brand}` are filled in for you.

### Use A Light Logo In The Dark Footer
Add the light file to `src/assets/images/` and set `logoDark = "/images/my-logo-white.svg"` in `[site]` of `config.toml`. Empty uses `logo` in the footer too. Only the `default` footer is dark and shows the logo; the `wordmark` footer shows your site name as text. See [Site Identity & Logo](/taskly/customization/site-identity-logo/#use-your-own-logo).

### Send The Demo Form To Another Inbox
`form.action` in `src/content/sections/english/demo-form-section.md` (and `french/`). Empty uses `contactFormAction` from `config.toml`. The contact form's file is `contact-message-section.md`. See [Forms](/taskly/customization/forms/).

### Change The Contact Details
`config.toml` has no contact block: the contact page reads its own section files. `src/content/sections/english/contact-cards-section.md` holds the sales and support cards (button links such as `mailto:support@example.com`, booking slots, chat messages), and `contact-message-section.md` the intro and review beside the form. Do the same in `french/`.

### Remove The Theme Name From Titles
Change `metaTitle` in the three homepage files, `[site] title`, `tagline`, `logoText`, and `[seo] author` in `config.toml`, and `site.tagline` in the i18n files. Then search `src/content` for the theme name. The main homepage file sets `disableTagline: true` because its title already contains the tagline; set it to `false` if your new title doesn't.
