What Is Editable In Tina

Keep npm run dev running, open http://localhost:4321/admin/, and click Enter Edit Mode. You need no account and no password. Open the menu at the top left, then pick an entry, a language folder, and a file. Tina has the full guide. Everything below exists in English, French, and Arabic, and an edit changes one language.
Where Each Page Is Edited
The last column lists the blocks in the page’s own form. Fill one in to change that section on this page only. Every other section on the page comes from Section defaults.
| Address | Entry in /admin/ | The page’s own blocks |
|---|---|---|
/ | Home pages, file -index | Home Banner, About Company, Marquee Ticker, Our Services, Numbers Stats, Testimonial Section, Features Split, Case Studies Section, Customers, Get In Touch, Recent Blog, Contact Section, Marquee Section |
/home-two/ | Home pages, file home-two | Home Banner Two, Features Grid, About Company Two, Marquee Ticker, Our Services Two, Customers, Working Process, Testimonial Section Two, Who We Are, Case Studies Section, Get In Touch, Recent Blog Two, Join Our Community, Marquee Section |
/home-three/ | Home pages, file home-three | Home Banner Three, Customers, About Company Three, Our Services Three, Trust Section, Testimonial Section Three, Experience Section, Our Team, Pricing Section, Case Studies Section, Faq Section, Recent Blog Three, Marquee Section |

/services/ | Services, the listing page | Marquee Section Two, Service Work Section, Fact, Testimonial Section, Success Section, Customers, Contact Section, Marquee Section |
/services/{slug}/ | Services, one file per entry | None |
/case-studies/ | Case studies, the listing page | Customers, Contact Section, Marquee Section |
/case-studies/{slug}/ | Case studies, one file per entry | None |
/pricing/ | Pricing page | Pricing Section, Business Service, Testimonial Section, Fact, Customers, Contact Section, Marquee Section |
/team/ | Team | Testimonial Section, Fact, Customers, Contact Section, Marquee Section. The people are the List field |
/faq/ | FAQ page | Faq Section, Business Service, Testimonial Section, Fact, Customers, Contact Section, Marquee Section. The questions are the List field |
/contact/ | Contact page | Office Locations, Contact Section, Marquee Section |
/blog/ | Blog, the listing page | Customers, Contact Section, Marquee Section |
/blog/{slug}/ | Blog, one file per post | None. It holds the post and its text |
/privacy-policy/, /terms-conditions/, /components/ | Other pages | None. Each holds the page and its text |
| 404 | Section defaults, 404 section. The title is Page Not Found under Common in Interface labels | None |
The blog’s category and page-number addresses use the Blog listing page’s blocks, and the case studies’ page-number addresses use the Case studies listing page’s. Testimonials holds the reviews: List for Home 1 and the inner pages, List Home2, and List Home3. Authors holds the people named on blog posts.
New Entries
Open the language folder first, click Create New, and pick the form. Listing page is the page that already exists, so you can ignore it. Fill in Title and, at the bottom of the form, Filename, which becomes the web address: use lowercase words with hyphens, such as my-new-post. Save doesn’t turn on until both have a value.
A new entry with only a title won’t break the site, and it builds. Its card or page shows what you filled in, and images and other fields stay empty until you add them, so fill them in before you publish.
A new entry appears only in that language, so make one with the same filename in each other language. To show an author on a post, type the name in its Author field. It must match a file under Authors whose filename is that name in lowercase words with hyphens: Jane Doe needs jane-doe.
Sections
Section defaults holds the shared content of each section, in each language, including the pricing packages in Pricing section, and the offices and map link in Office locations. A change there shows on every page that uses the section, unless the page has filled in its own block.
| Where it appears | Section |
|---|---|
/ only | Home banner, About company, Our services, Numbers stats, Features split, Recent blog |
/home-two/ only | Home banner two, About company two, Our services two, Working process, Testimonial section two, Who we are, Recent blog two, Join our community |
/home-three/ only | Home banner three, About company three, Our services three, Trust section, Testimonial section three, Experience section, Recent blog three |
/, /home-two/ | Features grid, Marquee ticker |
| All three homepages | Case studies section |
/, /home-two/, /about/ | Get in touch |
/about/ only | About hero, About us section, Faq two |
/about/, /services/ | Marquee section two, Success section |
/about/, /home-three/ | Our team |
/services/ only | Service work section |
/pricing/, /home-three/ | Pricing section |
/faq/, /home-three/ | Faq section |
/faq/, /pricing/ | Business service |
/contact/ only | Office locations |
| Blog listing and category pages | Blog list section |
/, /about/, /faq/, /pricing/, /team/, /services/ | Testimonial section |
/about/, /faq/, /pricing/, /team/, /services/, each service | Fact |
| Three homepages, and most inner pages | Customers |
| Home 1 and most inner pages | Contact section |
| Nearly every page, and 404 | Marquee section |
| 404 | 404 section |
Case studies and Comment section show on no page. To hide a section, turn off its Enable field. In Section defaults that hides it on every page, and in a page’s block on that page only. The homepage banners and the 404 section have no such field. In Office locations it hides the map and not the office cards, and in Features grid it does nothing.
Site-Wide Content
| Entry | What’s in it |
|---|---|
| Site settings | Site (title, description, tagline, Base Url, logo, favicon), Seo (including robots.txt, AI files, and sitemap), Contact (your address, phone, and email), Settings, Opengraph, and Head for analytics tags |
| Menus | Header Primary (dropdowns and the mega menu), Topbar, and Footer, per language. See Menus |
| Social links | Your social profiles |
| Interface labels | Buttons, form messages, and Footer Block (the footer description and copyright), per language |
Settings also holds the header and footer options: Sticky Header, Navigation Button, Announcement Bar, Footer Description, Copyright, Subscription, and Theme Credit. It also has Contact Form Action, Contact Form Provider, Smooth Scroll, and Page Actions. Which of the three headers and two footers a page uses stays in code.
In Menus, Show hides an item in the header. The footer shows every link in its list, so delete a footer link to remove it.
A few fields do nothing, because no page reads them: Title under Subscription, Description on mega menu columns and links, and Comment Form, Contact Info, Integration, and Social in Interface labels.
If You Clear A Field
In a page’s form, a field you never filled uses the default. A field you clear is saved empty, which hides that text or image on that page.
Tina can’t bring the default back by itself. To get the text back, do either of these:
- Copy it from Section defaults into the field.
- Delete that line from the page’s file in
src/content/with a text editor.
What The Preview Doesn’t Update
The header, the menus, and values from Site settings don’t change while you type. They update when you save. Restart npm run dev after you change Trailing Slash, the three folder names under Settings, or anything under Multilingual.
Click-to-edit doesn’t reach images with no alt field, categories, or one-word options. Change them in their forms. The Components page uses raw HTML, so its body is edited as source code.
What Stays In Code
- Which sections a page has, and their order: the file in
src/pages/[...lang]/. - Which header and footer a page uses: the same file.
- New sections and new page layouts. Then run
npm run tina:generateso the editor offers them. - Colors and type scale (
src/styles/theme.css) and fonts (src/config/fonts.json). - The list of languages. See Internationalization.
Versions And Testing
This edition is tested on Astro 7.2.8 and Node 22, with tinacms 3.15.1, @tinacms/cli 4.0.4, and @tinacms/astro 0.8.0. npm ci installs exactly these. The live preview uses experimental features of @tinacms/astro, so test it before you upgrade.
We have not run online editing against a live Tina Cloud project. Try one save on a copy of your site before you rely on it.
Do It With AI
I use the Tina edition. Tell me where to edit [TEXT OR SETTING] in /admin/: the entry, the languagefolder, the file, and the field. If it comes from Section defaults, say which pages will change, and how to change it on one page only. Don't change any files.
